What Do You Tell Yourself?


  Even though we can spend a lot of time worrying about what others think of us – what really influences our life most is what we think of ourselves. The stories we tell and the way we talk to ourselves has a huge bearing on our overall health. Your ‘self-talk’ impacts your feelings and actions. Negative self-talk can be damaging, keeping us stuck, unable to cultivate our lives and potential. Self-talk like; “Things never work out for me”, “Life is hopeless”, “I don’t deserve it”, I must be in control”.   We are each running these beliefs in our subconscious.

 During our early childhood we develop “Core Beliefs” in response to influences from our family/carers,  educators, friends and society. These beliefs condition the way we interpret our life experience. They are the filter through which we view our world. 

As we are growing up the ‘bad’ things that happen to us create  ‘limiting beliefs’ about ourselves and the world, like “I’m not good enough” “I must be perfect to be loved”. These beliefs affect our relationships, our confidence and our work life.
